Convenience Store News (csnews.com – I’m sure you read it every day, ha ha) reports that Circle K convenience stores will join the ranks of 472 other retailers who offer self-service money transfer kiosks in Texas. Apparently these money transfer kiosks are run by a company called TIO Networks Corp. They were market tested in Phoenix Arizona first, then rolled out to several major Texan cities.
The kiosks are self-service and automated and operate 24 hours a day. Money transfer recipients abroad can receive funds at more than 21,000 locations in Mexico and Latin America.
The money transfer fee is only $9.95 for up to $1,000 (an excellent rate) and the customer gets a free five-minute international phone call in order to notify the recipient that the money is on the way. That’s a nice touch.
